When you hire a vehicle from Easy Truck Rental, the rental vehicle comes with Easy Truck Rental Standard Damage Liability, but you may be liable for any excess payment due. To limit your risk exposure, there are three options offered for excess liability coverage. The following is a guide to the different excess options available.

STANDARD DAMAGE LIABILITY (STD):
All vehicles hired by Easy Truck Rental include Standard Motor Vehicle Insurance for no extra charge. STD carries a variable excess liability (deductible) depending on the class of vehicle.
This means that in the unfortunate event that the rental vehicle is involved in an accident or is damaged, you are liable for the associated excess value to cover any damage costs.
PLEASE NOTE: As the renter, you are liable for the excess regardless of whether you are ‘at fault’ or not.
After the vehicle has been repaired and the costs are finalised, Easy Truck Rental will refund the difference between the total cost and the excess amount charged, if applicable. The excess value is the maximum amount you will be charged.

COLLISION DAMAGE LIABILITY (CDL):
As mentioned above, all vehicles hired by Easy Truck Rental include Standard Damage Liability for no extra charge. However, you can choose to reduce your excess liability by purchasing Collision Damage Liability.
To reduce your excess liability, simply select the Collision Damage Liability option on the ‘Extras’ step when making your reservation.
If you purchase Collision Damage Liability, it reduces your excess liability to $1,100*.

MAXI DAMAGE LIABILITY (MDL)
As mentioned above, all vehicles hired by Easy Truck Rental include Standard Damage Liability for no extra charge. However, you can choose to reduce your excess liability further by purchasing Maxi Damage Liability Coverage.
If you purchase Maxi Damage Liability, it reduces your excess liability to $550*.
To reduce your excess liability to $550, simply select the Maximum Cover Excess Reduction option on the ‘Extras’ step when making your reservation.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Vehicle groups may have different excess levels and you may not be able to reduce the excess to $500 on all vehicle classes.
